Frequently Asked Questions

 

Location

All of our meetings are by appointment only and are held at our shop located at
715 Signal Mountain Road in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

 

Consultations

Please allow up to one hour for consultations and tasting appointments to ensure we
get all your information and ideas to design your dream cake. Please come with
a cake budget in mind, so that we can be sure to stay on track with what you
want to spend. Also, we welcome pictures or sketches of the cake you have in
mind. If you have a picture, sentimental item or color swatch, please bring it.
If you don’t have any, don’t worry! We have plenty of ideas and photos to share
with you. Our consultations are $25.00 per hour. See tastings for additional
info.

 

Tastings

To schedule a tasting, we suggest you contact us at least
three weeks in advance of your desired appointment time. Our tastings are $25
per couple and we provide 3  flavorsof your choice.  Payment is due at time of scheduling

 and is non-refundable  if tasting is canceled but can be put towards one rescheduled
appointment. If you should need to reschedule or cancel, we ask that you
contact us no later than 48 hours in advance, since your tasting selections
will be prepared prior to your arrival on the day of your appointment.



Price

Our cakes start at $3.50 per serving. Pricing is determined based upon the
complexity of your cake, which includes how much labor is involved and the
materials and ingredients used to create it.

 

Deposits

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to book your
date. The remainder of the balance is due 2 weeks prior to delivery. Cake will
not be delivered if payment is not received and cleared.  
Full payment is due no later than 2 weeks prior to the event and is
non-refundable. All returned checks and charges will be assessed a fee of $35.
In the event of this happening, only cash or money orders will be accepted.

 

Return Items

These are the cake separator plates and items that can be
reused. A refundable deposit will be determined at the time of your
consultation. If these items are not returned within 3 days after the wedding,
the deposit will not be returned.

 

Payment

Payments may be made by cash, check or debit/credit card.
Accepted cards include Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. A 3%
service charge applies to all debit/credit transactions.

 

Alteration to orders:

Any alterations to the original order must be confirmed in
writing and may be subject to an additional charge. Late changes to orders are
often possible and every effort will be made to accommodate changes, but this
cannot be guaranteed. Changes of dates may incur additional charges.

 

Cancellation of orders:

In the event of cancellation, work already completed is
chargeable, and deposits are non-refundable. If an event is cancelled within 2
weeks of the event, all monies are non-refundable.

 

Surcharges:

Should you book your event 6 months or more in advance, please be advised that a
surcharge may be added to your quote. This surcharge is to accommodate the
rising price of ingredients. B’s Sweets will contact you no less than one month
in advance of your event to advise you of any surcharge that will apply.

 

Damages:

We are not responsible for any damage to the cake after setup is complete. You are
responsible for providing an appropriate and secure table and environment for the
cake(s). Cakes are heavy and require a sturdy table and optimal room
temperature of 75 degrees or below. We will ask for someone at the wedding to
sign off on the Wedding form at the time of delivery.

 

Cake Topper

If you are providing a cake topper, you will need to bring it to the shop two weeks before
delivery when you make your final payment.

 

Allergens:

Our products may contain or come into contact with milk, wheat, nuts, soy and other
allergens. Please inform us of any allergies.      

 

Fresh Flowers:

If flowers are provided by an outside source, you acknowledge that fresh flowers are not a
food product, and may contain pesticides, insects, dirt or other contaminants.
If you are using a florist for the flowers on your cake, you should ask them
what they prefer to do, or if their schedule will allow them to arrange the
flowers on the cake. Some florists like to put flowers on the cake, while
others do not. At no charge, we will put a florist’s pre-arranged flowers on
the cake. However, if loose flowers are ordered through your florist, you need
to communicate very clearly to the florist and to B’s Sweets who is responsible
for arranging your loose flowers. An arranging fee will be charged for the
arrangement of loose flowers and should be agreed upon at the time of your
consultation.

 

Transportation:

If you or your representative elects to pick up and set up
the cake, you assume all liability and responsibility for the condition of the
cake once it leaves B’s Sweets’ possession. We deliver and set up for $25 an hour
within 35 miles of the shop. Outside of a 35-mile radius, 50 cents will be
charged per mile and a $25 an hour fee.
